"Spirit of Nomads" Project Receives High Recognition at the BEMA International Awards
The Kazakh cultural project "Spirit of Nomads: Boundless Horizons", organized by the Creative & Innovation Institute with the support of Kazakh Tourism, received high recognition at the Best Experience Marketing Awards (BEMA). The exhibition won second place in the "Best EXPO Event" category and third place in the "Best Festival" category. Delovoy Kazakhstan.
BEMA is a prestigious competition in event marketing and integrated communications. In 2025, it received 586 applications from countries including Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, Turkey, and China. Among them, 321 projects made it to the shortlist, and 200 became winners in 58 categories.
The "Spirit of Nomads: Boundless Horizons" exhibition showcased Kazakh culture through the lens of modern creative industries. The exposition featured innovative eco-projects, a reimagined concept of the Kazakh yurt, and unique wool and felt products. At the heart of the exhibition was the "Shimai" spiral, symbolizing eternal movement and evolution, reflecting ideas of sustainable development and harmony with nature. The atmosphere of nomadic life was captured by renowned photographers Anzor Gasaev, Conor MacNeill, Alexander Kuznetsov, and Karachon Shandor.
The Chairman of Kazakh Tourism, Kairat Sadvakasov, noted that global interest in nomadic culture is growing, and the project's success reaffirms the significance of Kazakhstan's heritage in the modern world.
Irina Kharitonova, Director of the Creative & Innovation Institute, emphasized that the exhibition became a platform for dialogue between the past and the future, culture and technology, proving that Kazakhstan’s creative industries can produce world-class projects.
The success of the "Spirit of Nomads" project at the BEMA Awards highlights the high level of Kazakhstan’s creative industries and their ability to represent national cultural heritage on the international stage. This achievement contributes to the development of sustainable tourism and strengthens cultural ties between nations.
